The RHS Chelsea Sustainable Excellence Awards now comprise three categories - the RHS Sustainable Garden Product of the Year, the RHS Sustainable Lifestyle Product of the Year and the RHS Sustainable Business of the Year. The shortlist for each of the categories have been announced, with the RHS Sustainable Product of the Year list revealed here.
The RHS Sustainable Business of the Year is a brand new departure for the RHS, which began the awards to help recognise sustainable practices across the horticultural industry.
The finalists are exhibiting at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, with the winners of each category announced by the judges (Chris Harrop, Deborah Meaden and Andree Davies) on Monday 19th May at the RHS Experience stand.
RHS Chelsea Sustainable Business of the Year Shortlist
A lifestyle and wellness company that creates everything from clothing to homeware to skincare and bath and body collections. The company has implemented composting food waste as part of its zero waste strategy, and has ambitious environmental targets in place.
A B Corp company, Gaze Burvill makes handcrafted outdoor furniture and kitchens made in the UK. Everything is designed and manufactured from the business's base in Hampshire. The timber used is carefully chosen and cut to minimise waste and give maximum longevity.
POTR won last year's RHS Chelsea Sustainable Garden Product of the Year Award, with its origami flat-packed, self-watering planters made from waste. The company was founded on the principle of taking a ground up, lifecycle approach to sustainability in the products it designs and how the business is operated.
Gaining a place both on the business and garden product shortlists, Sneeboer Trading BV makes garden tools built to last. Its tools are made from responsibly sourced ash wood and stainless steel, and the company repairs tools rather than replacing them. Educating customers on how to care for their tools is a key part of the sustainable approach.
